Easter Egg Raffle
In conjunction with other Lions Clubs in the South-East of England,
Leatherhead Lions repeated a successful operation of last year,
in organising a raffle of large Easter Eggs, to
raise money for the local Air Ambulance.
Each centre, most of whom were shops and pubs, sold tickets for their
own egg at £1 a ticket, making a profit if more than 30 tickets
were sold, with a maximum of 100. We are very grateful to the centres
who took part.
A profit in excess of £1000 was made, and with the other clubs'
contributions we were able to present a cheque for £18,384 to
Surrey Air Ambulance.
At the headquarters at Dunsfold Aerodrome we were shown over their
hanger, and given a talk by one of their Paramedics, who showed us
the range of equipment taken to incidents.
