Who are we?
We are one of the 42,000 clubs that make up Lions Clubs International,
the largest Service Club organisation in the world, with over 1.4
million members in over 180 countries.
We are dedicated to improving the quality of life of less fortunate
people in the community by supporting local and other charities and
providing service, assistance and funds for those in need.
Our Lions Club was founded in 1973 and has been serving the local community ever since.
What do we do?
To fund our charities we raise over £10,000 annually from various
local events. For details of, and reports on, these activities and the
charities we mainly support, click the index on the left.
We give our time and assistance freely, and in return we enjoy great
friendship and social activities among ourselves and with the people we help.
What happens to the money you donate?
Some money is used to run our activities - the New Year Party, It's a Knockout,
ParaTed and Message in a Bottle. The rest is given to our selected charities and local residents in need.
EVERY SINGLE PENNY we collect from donations, or profit from our
fund-raising events goes to help others. Unlike many other charities we
use absolutely none of the money for salaries or administration.
A new service has been launched - a badge to warn people that the wearer lip reads, so that they can speak appropriately. An
article has been published in the Leatherhead Advertiser.
Our next Car Boot Market is on August 1st at the Leisure Centre Grounds
