LCIF

LCIF, the Lions Clubs International Foundation, is a major fund held in order to make donations to any humanitarian disaster anywhere in the world, without the delay of collecting specifically for that disaster. The money is there; is it paid; and donations from any Lions Club are added to the fund as and when they come in.

Donations to the disaster are made via the local Lions Club and this has the advantage of going via local people directly to the victims of any particular tragedy.

LCIF recently received a four star rating from Charity Navigator, the highest rating possible from the charity evaluator. In 2007, LCIF was named the No. 1 non-governmental organisation with which to partner, a title our Foundation still holds today.

100% of any donation goes directly to the source of the disaster. Any administration costs are taken from the interest accumulated in the fund.

Haiti

This system worked well for the Haiti disaster; Lions International have funded the local Haitian Lions Club, who are in the best place to assess the needs of the population and to assist.

We have received a letter from Lions International.
