Our annual pary for Pensioners and Disabled from Leatherhead and
the surrounding villages, in the Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall on Sunday
17 January 2010, was affected by the weather. Both the acts booked for
the day cancelled at the last moment due to the snow. As the snow
melted overnight this was an unfortunate decision.
However Hedley Kaye, who gave us such excellent entertainment last year and another singer/guitarist, Nigel Kingswell, stepped in, so 121 guests were treated to a good programme of entertainment.
Brian Gourlay brought us up to date on the 2010 coinage, and we
welcomed Tim Hall, MVDC chairman, who talked to our guests during the
delicious tea laid on by Sue Ibbotson and many other members' wives.
